36th  Annual Competition and Convention

Friday March 23,  2018

7:00 - 8:00                 Set of backboards for competition  All board members need to be present to help and                                        for a pre-convention meeting to acquire their assignment!

8:00 - 5:00              Registration open / specimens will be placed by competitors until 12pm

9:00 - 11:00           Seminar 1:  Mike Orthober- Mounting a quail
Silent Auction opens at 9am

12:00                          Judging Begins Specimens to be placed by Room Chairman

11:00 - 1:00          Lunch on your own

1:00 - 3:00            Seminar 2:  Lance VanDusen- Setting up a large life size manikin and skin test fit 

3:00 - 5:00            Seminar 3:  Don and Jeff Rush- Bird Taxidermy

5:30    (Registration and mount acceptance closed after this time)

5:30 - 10:00             Pizza Paloosa in Hospitality Room- 
                                  Water, soda, and pizza will be provided, adult beverages allowed but not furnished

7:00 - 10:00             Seminar 4: KS Scramble- Anyone can enter this mini competition by bringing something to mount during this time period.  Can be anything you want to work on and show people who are not participating how you do things. Will be like several mini seminars going on at once.  Similar to the Mo-Kan competition.  At the end of the time, everyone will vote on a first and second place.  Second will receive a plaque and first will receive a plaque and $100 cash.  Perfect chance to get a customer piece done while at the show or a piece of your own that you never get a chance to work on.

8:00 - 12:00                
Seminar 5:  Brian Olsen- Ears on Whitetail, hands on

10:00 - 12:00                       Seminar 6:  Kids alligator painting and a program in hospitality room (supplies furnished)

12:00 - 1:00                          People's Choice Voting

1:00                                        Ladies Lunch & Social 

2:00 - 3:00                            Seminar 7: Tom & Clint Bowman- detachable antlers, bondo ears, and a Q&A Session

3:30 - 5:00                            Business Meeting

6:00                                       cocktails/ Dinner/Awards/Silent Auction


Sunday March 25th  2018

9:00 - 11:00                  Seminar 8: Mike Beckman- skinning a snake

9:00 - 11:30                showroom open to the public

12:00                      Tear down; all mounts can leave, please help and let out of state competitors go first
